What type of growth have we seen in Amir?
Amir is more caring and sympathetic for others such as wanting to find Hassan's son. But it is not a true growth because he didn't start this on his own. Rahim Khan called him over form America to do these things and Amir, at first, disagreed. He did eventually agree but it doesn't seem like true growth.
What was your reaction to the 'state' of Kabul upon his return?
I am not surprised. The Taliban rule is ruthless and will do anything to be in control. So I am not surprised that Kabul is in ruins. Beggars are all over the place and everything is destroyed from buildings to trees.
Where do you think the story is going from here?
I would think it would become better like Amir finding Hassan's son and bringing him to America but the way the story has turned out already, probably not. Every time you think something will become good, the story takes a 180 turn and goes downhill. So the remainder of the story will probably be the same.
